10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

2:04:29.  Ran on the trails down below the pass. I have no idea how far this was, it could have been anywhere between 14-15 miles.  I am underestimating because it is my preference.

I kind of wanted to run on the Rillito trail, but I really had to get to work as early as possible (the drive would add an hour to my day) and I wanted to run as easy as possible -- Dean cautioned me not to overdo it when feeling "great" (he is a smart guy, and reminded me that it is how I have tended to overdo it in the past).  Anyway, there is no way I can overdo it on these trails, although it is not nearly as tough as my everyday hills, the footing is not great and they chew up your legs.  I was pretty tired by mile 10, but pulled it together and ran strong (not super fast but strong) on the way back.  I ran a different trail than last weekend, this was is as difficult (uphill the last 3 miles) - but the footing is much better, unfortunately, it is also a little shorter -- I am pretty sure I was not running a min/mile slower than last week.  Anyway ... nice 2 hour run done ... back to work I go, hi ho hi ho.

Great racing today by Jeff and Marathon Dreamer!! MD pr'd by 13 mins!! yippee!

Great cross-country race today too - the first Bay Area Cross-Country race... super studs Molly Huddle and Ben Bruce (boyfriend of Stephanie Rothstein of McMillan Elite) won ... the men's race was super close ... would have loved to be there for it!  Awesome pics here -- note that Nan's teammate Renee Baille (nee Metevier -- a CU standout) was second (yea Renee)!

Happy Sunday Bloggers, next weekend, indoor track on TV!!!!

Wow, Bonnie! I must have missed your blog a bit. You are really pouring on the miles! Can't wait to see how this year goes for you. You are on track for 3,000 miles! I am just hoping to get 1500! (125 a month). I am really counting on my 12 hour race to help bump me up and over the 1500 mark.

p.s. are you still coached by Greg? I read an article by his ultra friend Ian that was also trying to get web sign ups for clients, but when I went to his site, he wanted $200 a month! that's a college loan payment so I said nope. Guess I got to make due with being my own coach for now.

Hi Benn, I still coached by Greg. I know there used to be an option to get coached for a specific race (which was much cheaper since it was short term and basically just a workout schedule) -- you should email Greg/Ian and see if they still have that deal (and how much it is). I could have sworn it was much cheaper.

Glad you are enjoying your holiday today!

Hi Benn,

I checked Greg's website and Ian is offering a 12 week ultra program for $100 ... $125 for a 16 week program
